When should I register by?
We kindly ask that you and your guests be registered by the August 22, 2022 to provide adequate time for planning and preparation. If you miss this suggested deadline, please contact us at [email protected] and please STILL COME TO THE EVENT! We will have registration at the event for walk-up guests.
How long is the event?
Our event is scheduled from 12-3 PM on Sunday August 28th, 2022. While we hope you can be there for the entirety of the event, we will be glad to see you at any point in time! Please feel free to join us for as long as you can/would like. This is by no means a rigid schedule where you should feel stressed about showing up on time or leaving early.
What should I wear?
There is no formal dress code for the event. We suggest wearing athletic or casual clothes as there will be outdoor activities with low-moderate physical difficulty. Please also dress weather appropriate in the event that we have a beautiful, warm, summer day and wear sun screen. We will be providing shelter this year so you can bank on a shady spot to rest.
What about fishing?
Fishing is absolutely welcome at our event! We will have some instruction offered but if you wish to fish at your own pace you are absolutely allowed. We will not be providing fishing gear (beyond that used for instruction) so you must bring your own and please be sure to have a valid fishing license. For more information and to purchase a fishing license please visit: https://www.dgif.virginia.gov/licenses/
Do I have to participate in every activity offered?
Absolutely not! This event is intended to be fun and relaxing for all those in attendance. We hope you enjoy our activities if they appeal to you. However, if you want to join us for the company and picnic alone that is alright by us!
Who am I allowed to bring?
We invite our veteran guests to bring family and friends of all ages to our event. We only ask that you register with the correct number of adult and child guests that will be attending with you. If extra guests tag along at the last minute, that's okay too. Alcohol is not prohibited at the event.
Can I bring my dog?
Unless you have an authorized service dog, we kindly ask that you leave your furry friends at home -- no matter how well behaved they may be-- out of respect for the other attendees and the property's owners.
What if it is raining on the day of the event?
Seas the Day will be held anyway in the event of rain on August 28th. Catering will still be provided.
What food is being served at the picnic?
Seas the Day will feature a barbecue picnic catered by Mission BBQ. Food options will include: pulled pork, brisket, and chicken, cornbread, mac and cheese, coleslaw, and green beans.
